"The People of Saskatchewan are proud of their Heritage...
Many of our youth have given their all in the two world wars and the Korean conflict."

The People of Saskatchewan are proud of their heritage and the part they
have played in the development of Saskatchewan and Canada. Their
involvement in the progress of Canada as a nation cannot be denied. Many
of our youth have given their all in the two world wars and the Korean
conflict.

Those who died in World War I have been remembered in the recent
construction of a WWI memorial. It is now time to remember those who did
not return from WWII, the Korean conflict and any who were lost in
subsequent peacekeeping duties.

The Saskatchewan War Memorial Project Committee has set the year
2005 as the objective for the completion and dedication of such a memorial.
It will be located on the Legislative Grounds immediately north of the WWI
memorial and will include the names of almost 5000 Saskatchewan men and
women who gave their lives in the cause of freedom.

Several members of the project committee are veterans of these campaigns
and when they are all gone it will be memorials such as this that will remind
future generations of the price that was paid for the freedoms they enjoy.
